Thank you Neighbors for Making our 2022 Fall Festival a Wonderful Day!
Wednesday, October 26, 2022

On Saturday, October 15, The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association held their 47th Annual street festival along Park Avenue between 34th and 38th Streets. After a two year pause on street festivals due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to secure an October date for this year's event, which became known as the MHNA Fall Festival! We were delighted to have a picture-perfect sunny fall day for neighbors and visitors to saunter down Park Avenue exploring the unique vendors and food offerings. We would love to get your feedback on the Festival! Please visit surveymonkey.com/r/62X5M85 to take a 2 minute survey.
The Festival is one of the Association's largest fundraising efforts each year, with the block between 35th and 36th Streets dedicated to showcasing Association programs and sales. This year's Festival raised $10,850 in total that will be put toward the Association's educational and community building programs in the neighborhood, including our new Trees of Murray Hill matching grant challenge! Twenty seven of our neighbors joined the Association as members, and many more promised to sign up online following the event (the URL is murrayhillnyc.org/join if you need a reminder!). We would also like to recognize our 50:50 raffle winner, Tara Sweeney, who took home half of the total raffle pot. Congrats Tara!
The success of the Book Sale, Flea Market, Silent Auction, and Bake Sale tables depends completely on the generosity of our Murray Hill neighbors and this year was a banner year. Even with only a few weeks' notice leading up to the Festival, neighbors donated a plethora of treasures. Our Book Sale featured a popular kids Book Nook this year, which will certainly return in the future. And who could pass up the homemade treats at the Bake Sale—from reverse chocolate chip cookies to a homemade cake with "Murray Hill" spelled out in chocolate chips! There was more than enough to go around.
Our Festival is one of the events that makes The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association unique, and we thank all of our neighbors and local businesses for volunteering, donating, and supporting the MHNA. If you would like to be involved in the planning for next year’s event, please reach out to info@murrayhillnyc.org.
