Park Avenue Tunnel re-opening to traffic at the end of January

Saturday, January 12, 2019

The NYC Department of Transportation Division of Bridges closed the Park Avenue Tunnel to all traffic in November 2018. A full closure was necessary for crews to power wash and abate toxic materials in the interior of the tunnel. The tunnel is expected to re-open to traffic at end of January, and normal construction work will resume.

The tunnel will be closed only during overnight hours for the remaining rehabilitation work. The rehabilitation work is expected to go through April 2020.

Patty Sarantakos from the LiRo Group is available to provide information about this project at 646-476-0804 or parkavenuetunnel2016@gmail.com. For all NYC non-emergency services, including inquiries regarding NYC DOT construction projects, dial 311.
