Reconfiguration of East 33rd Street between 1st & 2nd Avenue to a 2-way street is substantially completed

East 33rd Street has been reconfigured between First and Second Avenue from a 1-way to a 2-way street. This was requested by NYU Langone to provide better access for ambulances to their emergency entrance on 1st Avenue. The project is substantially completed.

The traffic pattern on the east side of 2nd Avenue south of 33rd Street is slightly altered. Cars now enter the service road that runs between 33rd and 30th Street slightly south of 33rd Street.
