The Keep Murray Hill Clean & Green group is seeking part-time interns

The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association's Keep Murray Hill Clean & Green team is seeking two high school students for part-time internships with stipend pay. Candidates should live in Murray Hill/Kips Bay/Turtle Bay, have a love for the outdoors, nature and community surroundings. The positions are open through the rest of the school semester and through summer.

Interns are expected to work 10 hours a week: five hours doing administrative work and five hours in the field. Your hours can be flexible.
Duties include: assisting with social media posts, doing bulk mailings to volunteer lists, helping to organize clean-up days, communicating with local businesses and government officials and helping to strategize an Open Streets day event with a Greening & Cleaning theme.

Knowledge of Word and Excel, and experience with a graphic design software program is necessary, along with good communication skills. Knowledge of how to take a video to document your progress is a bonus.

Interns must have a concern for the environment and want to do problem solving, as well as an interest in rallying volunteers and meeting new people. Interns will gain experience in grassroots organizing and dealing with challenging urban problems, and will gain skills in project workflow from start to finish.

You will work with the Keep Murray Hill Clean & Green team. The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association is a 60+ year-old neighborhood association.

We will work with student's school on requirements for possible credit for the internship.

This is a fun summer project you could present at your school later.
We will accept a team of two.
If interested, kindly reply to greenandclean@murrayhillnyc.org.

Please share this opportunity with your high school and others who may be interested.
