Short Profile

Since 1848 - diverse and inclusive, creative and embracing

Profile

Welcome to the historic Madison Avenue Baptist Church, an American Baptist congregation in New York City since 1848. The church is a diverse community that is inclusive of all people. It is creative and embracing. It is a place of worship that honors everyone, and a community of faith that follows a gospel of joy and laughter.

In 1848, there was a section in Manhattan called Rose Hill, famous for its flowers, summer residences, and many stately homes. It was here that the Rev. S. S. Wheeler organized the Rose Hill Baptist Church, now the Madison Avenue Baptist Church.

Join the church for in-person services, Sundays at 11am. The service is also live streamed.

Happy Wednesdays (the Wednesday noon check-in) are an opportunity for brief virtual fellowship and prayer. All are welcome.
