Description

All primaries will take place on June 23. In New York State, you must be registered with a party to vote in that party's primary elections. There will be no Presidential primary for the Republican party, as President Donald Trump will be the only Republican presidential candidate. For the Democratic party, in our neighborhood, the only contest will be the Democratic Presidential Prinmary. Bernie Sanders has said that he will remain on the ballot.

Gov. Cuomo has issued an executive order that all Boards of Elections in the state should mail an absentee ballot application to all voters. Or you can download the application and mail it in now. You can decide later whether or not to use your absentee ballot, or go to the polling place in person.

All New Yorkers will be able to vote by mail in the June 23 election, per an Executive Order from Governor Cuomo. Application for an absentee ballot from the NYC Board of Elections:  https://www.vote.nyc.ny.us/downloads/pdf/forms/boe/absenteevoting/absenglish.pdf

When you fill in your info, indicate "temporary illness" as the reason in question 1. (Cuomo's order expanded the definition to include the risk of contracting the coronavirus.) NOTE: You can indicate a date range for the temporary illness and can indicate a start date of 4/10/2020 (for example) and an end date of November 15 so that the absentee ballot application will also cover the general elections.
