About the artist:
Wenting Shi is the 2018 Serge & Olga Koussevitzky Young Artist Awards Third Prize Winner. She made her piano debut and received the first prize in a national competition at age 5. She studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, and as a youth won many scholarships and international prizes. She has given solo and orchestral concerts in world renowned venues. In 2011, she was offered a scholarship to study at The Juilliard School in New York, where she studied with Yoheved Kaplinsky. In 2015, she received her Bachelor’s degree and received the Arthur Rubinstein Prize. She received her Master’s degree in May of 2017. She is pursuing her doctoral study at the Yale School of Music with Boris Berman.
