Hollywood investigates journalism from Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman chipping away at the Watergate crisis in All the President’s Men to Michael Keaton and staff exposing shocking Boston scandals in Spotlight, filmmakers have long been drawn to subjects both supportive and critical of the mainstream news media.

Join cinema historian Max Alvarez, a former newspaper film critic with local and network TV experience, for this compelling multi-media presentation on the cinema’s love/hate relationship with print and television journalism. Among the works under discussion will be The Insider, The China Syndrome, and HBO’s The Newsroom.
