Celebrate Earth Day April 22 in Murray Hill! Volunteer for the green & clean event!
Tuesday, March 21, 2017
Are you interested in plants, gardening or the environment? Would you like to support The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association’s efforts to add more green space to our community? Wouldn’t you like to work with other people in the neighborhood to keep our streetscapes clean and litter free and contribute ideas to beautify our area?
On December 3rd, ten intrepid volunteers made sure that the Mall and neighboring streets sparkled for the tree-lighting on December 4th.
A spring clean-up event and a mulching event for the tree beds on Third Avenue are also on the regular schedule, and the MHNA is looking for volunteers for our Green and Clean Committee to make our streetscapes more attractive. This committee coordinates our efforts around greening, litter management and beautification. The committee will help organize regular events such as community litter clean-up events in the Spring and Fall and activities aimed at improving the amount and quality of plantings in our area. We are looking for energetic volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities to help us with this effort.
For those who want to participate, but do not have the time for a committee commitment, think about becoming either a Partner in Grime or a Green Beret:
A Partner in Grime helps with clean-up events, or you can help to organize your block to team up and keep the streets clean for all of us to enjoy. If you are interested in volunteering to be a Partner in Grime, please contact Stein Berre: firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Green Beret helps to sustain plantings in our neighborhood. This year, we plan to hold events to clean and maintain planter boxes and to lend a hand to neighbors who would like to add new plantings to our streetscape. If you are interested in volunteering on greening projects, please contact Tom Horan at email@example.com.
