On December 3rd, ten intrepid volunteers helped to make sure that the Mall and neighbouring streets sparkled for the tree-lighting on December 4th. The clean-up event is the second official Murray Hill clean-up event of the year. Clean-up events take place twice a year, in Spring and Fall.
In the coming months, we are asking our neighbours in the community to think about what they can do to keep their blocks cleaner. You will see several of our volunteers working throughout the year to keep their own blocks tidier. Some of them will do a clean-up every few weeks; others are working with their building's management and co-op boards to make sure the area around their buildings get cleaned up regularly. Thank them if you see them cleaning up our streets, and think what you can do to join the effort. Perhaps you too might want to adopt your block to keep Murray Hill cleaner. Pitching in for a few minutes every few weeks can make a world of difference for your block and for your community!
